The Whipper-In Hotel was once a 17th-century coaching inn and even though it has been modernised it still retains its beautiful original features which include real log fires, deep armchairs and original oak beams. You will stay in one of the hotel's many spacious double or twin rooms, each offering en suite bathroom facilities. In the morning you may enjoy a full English or Continental breakfast served in the hotel's Restaurant.
Upon arrival at the hotel you will be shown the bedroom that will be yours for the duration of your stay. You are then free to relax at your leisure. In the morning choose either a full traditional English or Continental breakfast. There is a restaurant and convivial pub on site should you wish to dine at the hotel. There are also many attractions and places of interest to visit in the surrounding area including Rutland Water, Burghley House, Belvoir Castle and Uppingham.

Your voucher is valid for ten months for two people. The package includes one night's accommodation for two people in a standard double or a twin room (with free upgrade subject to availability) and a full English or Continental breakfast for each guest on the morning of departure. All double rooms are large and spacious with an array of facilities including, tea/coffee making facilities, trouser press, remote control television, in house movies, radio, hair dryer, 24 hour room service, iron, ironing board, direct dial telephone and en suite bathroom. My daughter brought me the Buyagift experience which was the Two Night Hotel Break For Two.I invited my elder sister Joan to go with me so that we could spend some quality time together.I chose the Whipper In Hotel in Oakham as I wanted to explore the area and take Joan to Melton Mowbray and Spalding as she has always wanted to go. We had a fantastic time!We started at Melton market on the Tuesday and then found the Hotel which is in the market place at Oakham. It is a 17th century Hotel and the room was fantastic. We woke on Wednesday morning to the sound of a market being set up with lovely fresh produce and local dishes. We then went to Springfields shopping outlet near Spalding for some retail therapy and from there got on the river taxi into Spalding. After having a meal we finished the evening off at the cinema. Before we started home we went to Rutland water and had a lovely walk. The whole experience was wonderful. I would recommend the Hotel to anyone and would love to go back again. This was a fantastic present and my Sister and I have some precious memories of a great time together.
