One Night Break at Marco Pierre White The Talbot
Not Marco Pierre White but ok hotel
This was a nice place to stay but was mis-sold. It is *not* part of the Marco Pierre White chain. For the price, we had an enjoyable stay. It wasn't as grand as I was expecting from the Marco Pierre White association but it was nice. We stayed in the stables that seem more modern that then hotel and in better decor. The restaurant is lovely as is the hotel garden. The bar and reception are a bit tired and the first things you see when you enter the hotel but don't let this put you off. I mention this so that the hotel managers might fix it rather than as a concern for guests, there are lots of lovely areas to hang out besides those. Service in the restaurant was hit and miss in the evening (we were kept waiting a lot as were others even though less than half full) but staff were very friendly and we didn't mind too much as it was a nice ambiance. I would stay here again and eat here again at the price that we paid. It's not amazing four star luxury but it's a nice location and a hotel with history.
