Star lunch cruise on Seine
11 July 2019
Early start needed overnight stay in London. Eurostar standard class OK, would have preferred premier. Getting to Venu fraught due to total closure of RER C just as we arrived on platform, Horrendous Road Traffic above so no bus, had to use a Taxi. Cruise, Meal, Wine & Venue exceeded expectations. Brilliant!. But Paris has a severe Public Transport problem with overcrowding! Also I had to get your support in booking because I could not access Hospitality Line website procedure.

St Pancras at 5:30 am to make all connections.. we did not realise tubes did not start at 5am!! so had to hail a cab, We really only had time to go on the cruise.. no time for sightseeing at all. The cruise was excellent ( beware the soup is cold) the chicken was very good , loads of free wine 1 glass on arrival ,1 glass of white, then a bottle of red between 2 of us .....The Eiffel Tower moved!!

Long day, but worth it !

From arriving at Saint Prancras International Station to sitting down eating breakfast took only 15 minutes. Try doing that at the local airport! The ticket collection was easy and automatic, and the allocated seating made the whole process straghtforward. Two hours, twenty minutes later, we were in the centre of Paris, Although we had three hours before we had to board out boat for lunch, we took a quick 20 minute Taxi (15 euro) to the Eiffel Tower. When we boarded the boat for lunch, we were welcomed aboard with a drink. The service provided was first class, and the wine glasses kept topped up. Cruising slowly and relaxingly down the Seine listening to a live singer is an ideal way to spend a Saturday afternoon. The meal itself was chosen from four different options for each of a starter, mains, and pudding. Bottled water was also provided, Once the cruise ended, we spent some time walking around the local shops in Paris before returning to the station and the Eurostar home, All told, it was (for us), a very long day, but well worth repeating as soon as we can. Pound for pound, this was excellent value.

Luckily we remembered to take our passports because this is one experience we wouldn't've missed for the world! After a quick and easy trip over on the Eurostar (first time - definitely doing it again) we arrived in Paris ready for the most incredible four course meal with wine (the French know their food and drink!) whilst cruising down the Seine listening to beautiful music and spotting Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower! Perfection.

The Paris trip was an anniversary surprise from my husband. He said he was taking me out to dinner then I found out he'd booked us this package that included travel on the Eurostar and then a romantic lunch cruise along the River Seine! It was fantastic because he had a lovely meal and also got to do sightseeing as we sailed past all the major attractions!
