Two Night Break at The Wessex Hotel
great break away
The hotel was situated on the top road of the main route through Bournemouth, although situated here the hotel room was quiet. The venue is in a very short walking distance to the town and adjacent to the hotel entrance is a passageway that takes you down to the clifftops and then onto the promanade, walking into Poole towards Sandbanks you will find the Jazz cafe which offers a very warm welcome and a much needed beer, the staff are friendly as indeed are the customers, the log fire and red leather settee were perfect for the rest we needed before heading back to the hotel. Going in the oppisite direction you can expect to hit the ariba bar at the entrance to the pier again the beer is good and the view of the surfers and the sunset is outstanding.
The entrance was grand with lots of free parking spaces, the bar and reception on entering had a welcoming feel, on checking in we were welcomed warmly and informed of the facilities and opening hours for the use of the pool, gym and sauna. We had been upgraded to a bigger room which was very spacious, the decor was suitable and the room and en-suite was clean and tidy. As it was January the heating in the room was welcoming. A nice touch was the complimentary hand wash and lotion of which there was plenty. Breakfast is buffet-style and is plentiful and well presented.
