Two Night Break at Ramada Bury St Edmunds
Handy location to stay
Hotel now called Quality Hotel, not Ramada.
Very friendly staff on reception, bar and in the mornings in the restaurant. Only had one evening meal at hotel.
Room basic but reasonable size and clean.
This hotel is located within easy walk of town and next to A14.
Only down side was restaurant menu does not change.

Loved the gift but would not recommend hotel
We loved the gift but would not recommend this hotel at present. It is not a Ramada but owned by the group which owns Choice hotels - the Akkeron group- who went into administration the day before we arrived so perhaps the issues we had could be blamed on that. We arrived expecting to have dinner but on arrival were told the dining room was closed and had been for the whole of the previous week. We were directed to a local pub but despite driving round did not find it so ended up in Bury St Edmunds. Dinner was available the next night but wasn't very good so perhaps it was a blessing it had been closed the night before! It is a wonderful location to explore this area of Suffolk and North Essex. Bury itself is wonderful with lots of places of interest. We visited Kentwell Hall which we found very interesting as well as Long Melford ( magnificent church) Lavenham (another amazing church with very welcoming people) with lots of unusual shops, Halstead and Sudbury. On the last day we visited Newmarket where we spent nearly all day in the Horse Racing museum which is brilliant. Had a lovely experience and will definitely buy these again.
