Two Night Break at Himley Country Hotel
Himley House Hotel
The hotel was conveniently placed . It was clean and the breakfast was good. The room was a good size. Good value for money! We enjoyed our stay.
You mention a hamper, we did not get one!

Nice 2 night break
After reading some reviews before we went, we were a little sceptical but actually, receptionists were very friendly even though they could not recommend places to visit nearby! Room was clean although it really needed updating. The shower on the first morning would not switch off so the maintenance man sorted it whilst we were at breakfast. However, on the 2nd morning - guess what? The shower would not turn off yet again.
However, the bedding was spotless and the room clean. Could have done with more than 2 sachets of coffee in the room but receptionists gave us more when we asked.
We found the food in the restaurant rather expensive, so walked approx. 100yards to the nearest pub who served excellent food at excellent prices.
Breakfast was lovely and found everything we needed. We would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to take a short breakaway.

Unpretentious and basic
Our two night stay at Himley Country Hotel was not exactly as promised. It is a basic, just about three star, hotel with staff who do their best for you and provide simple accommodation well. The room was adequate although needing some renovation, especially in the bathroom, and we had a quiet night. The hotel seems to cater for the cheap and cheerful end of the market [we noticed their own cost was cheaper than we paid through Buy-a-Gift] and most of our fellow residents were lorry drivers and workers on the move. Breakfast was fine [except for awful sausages] but dinner was poor - clearly frozen meals of limited quantity and quality [my prawn curry had just seven tiny prawns swimming in loads of sauce!]
However, the reception staff were friendly and informative and the young waitress charming and hard-working. If you ignore any promise of "luxurious accommodation" and treat it as the basic hotel it is, then it's fine.
