Board Northern Belle for a delightful Afternoon Tea, as the train traverses scenic British countryside. Take your seat among luxurious surroundings with ornate marquetry, plush furnishings and sparkling crystal. Enjoy a traditional afternoon tea from a delectable menu accompanied by joyful entertainment in the form of strolling musicians and a table magician. A Northern Belle train journey is the perfect way to relive the glamour of 1930's rail travel and every afternoon tea journey starts with a glass of fizz and a toast to a bygone era.

  • A traditional afternoon tea onboard, consisting of a savoury trio course, a selection of hand cut sandwiches, cakes, fancies, sweet treats, fruit scones with clotted cream and jam and strawberries and cream

What do I need to know?
  • All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
  • The Northern Belle is a touring train and visits several cities in the UK to operate afternoon tea excursions
  • You maybe required to travel to the next nearest departure date/point if demand is high for your region
  • Minimum age is 18 years for alcohol service. Children will received free flow soft drinks in lieu
  • While guests with mobility issues can be accommodated, it is not possible for someone to board in a wheelchair. Guests using wheelchairs are advised to travel with company who can assist them to their seats, and folding wheelchairs can be stored during the journey
  • This voucher is only valid for dates in the schedule that match its value and therefore you may need to look further ahead for a date of equal value. If you wish to travel on a date that does not correspond with your voucher, you may pay a supplementary fee. Please enquire upon booking to establish a list of available dates
  • Seating is provided for couples, side by side on a table of four
  • Single passengers may find they are sharing
  • It is possible, subject to availability, to book a private table of two at the time of voucher activation. This will incur a supplement to the standard tickets
  • We regret this cannot be booked in advance as it is subject to space at time of voucher activation
  • Forward facing travel can be requested but not guaranteed unless a table of two upgrade is added
  • Due to the exclusive nature of this product availability is limited and you are advised to make your booking early to avoid disappointment
  • Dress code is smart casual (no jeans or trainers), although you can never be too over-dressed for the Northern Belle!
  • When the activation is made no refunds can be made
  • All dates are subject to availability

Worthwhile Experience

A really good different experience. We travelled on the Northern Belle from Edinburgh and the views were stunning. The afternoon tea was very nice and catered to all dietary requirements. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the four hours on the train flew by! A fantastic gift that I have gifted to my mum for her 60th , I cannot wait to travel on the Northern Belle again in August.

Poor availability and not as expected

This was bought as a 70th Birthday presentfor 2 or us however only 2 dates were available from the nearest departing station. Northern Belle customer services lady was very helpful however wanted to charge extra for everything. The gift was afternoon for two but I was told we had to pay extra for a table for two! So we had to share with strangers on a table for 4 - not what was booked.

My daughter surprised me with afternoon tea on the Northern Belle, it was everything I could of hoped and more. The staff were all so attentive and the attention to details was fantastic. We had a magician and a band wondering through the carriages. The food was outstanding and we felt completely full afterwards. One very happy mum.

Our carriage on the Northern Belle proved to be wonderfully organised from the moment that they laid out the red carpet for us on arrival at Birmingham International station to the time that we got off. I'd never realised that afternoon tea could take the whole afternoon but this one did, served as it was in gentle courses, each leading seamlessly to the next. Everything was silver service, including putting out the plates on the tables, adding an air of extravagant 'olde worlde' courtesy to the whole experience. This was a gift from our daughter to celebrate two special birthdays and it certainly did this in style. Many thanks, Nat and Dan. We would thoroughly recommend the Northern Belle to anyone. Next time, Sunday Lunch??
