Travel back in time to the golden age of the Great Western Railway. Savour the sights, sounds and smells of steam as you explore this 21-acre living museum with trains dating from Victorian times to the 1960s. Take unlimited rides, explore the original 1932 engine shed and see magnificently preserved locomotives – you can even climb onto the footplates of some! We had a great time visiting Didcot railway with our family ticket a brilliant day out lots to do, 4 trips on steam trains magical!

The process of converting our voucher to tickets ahead of our visit was made very easy by the friendly staff at Didcot. We spent 5 hours in the attraction and the children enjoyed the train rides, signal box, and the small play/ picnic area even though it was only a few wooden trains ! Their imaginations were obviously activated by all they’d seen in the engine sheds etc.
The main car park which the literature directs you to is spacious but a fair distance from the station. A car park is available opposite the main rail station which is much closer but did look busy.

Great day out plenty to see went on the two trains a few times staff were excellent eager to pass on their experience would go again in the future

We visited with our grandchildren aged 7 and 14 and they really enjoyed the day, including the museum and air raid shelter. Plenty of rides along the track and space to run around. Lots of interest for all ages.

Lovely little steam railway with lots to see. Kids loved it. Liked the air raid shelter with a clever audio and light simulation. Hands on signal box simulator was good too.

Small station with a small line. But the signal box was great, lovely picnic area and trains in museum are very impressive.

Train only stopped at 1 place. It went back and forth twice. You could use the train all day. But felt it wasnt worth it.
