Audi R8 Thrill for One 10211728

We were told upfront to allow 2 to 3 hours at the venue. We arrived 30 mins before session start time as advised but even then it took at least an hour to check in. And when we did check in, we were aware why it took so long as they are trying to sell everyone extra drives. Which to a certain extent I can understand as they are a business and are there to make money but I do think they are taking advantage as nobody is going to walk off because they are fed up with queueing. Having registered (and bought 2 extras) made way to pits. There is an app that you can put on your phone to see where you are in the queue to drive which is helpful. Unfortunately I had a long wait between my sighter lap( one of the extras we paid for, don't waste your £10) and the Audi R8 drive as there was a glitch in the system and the computer thought I was still in the track!! Onto the Audi drive, I did enjoy it but there was a lot of other cars on the track. After that I had another extra, a 2 lap ride in the Atom, which was very exciting. I think we ended up being there for about 3 and a half hours. I don't know if this is the norm for this type of experience. But I don't think I would buy this as a gift for anyone. I think my partner who bought it for me was more disappointed than myself as he had bought it as a birthday gift.

This was a great experience driving an Audi R8 and Carl the instructor was brilliant at getting the best out of the car. I would advise doing the sighting lap and getting there early so you could do an additional car for £30 for 3 laps. It did turn out to be expensive even though it was a present to me, as I then had to pay extra to do it on a weekend (£35) and for insurance which cost £25.

I bought the 3 girls the Audi driving experience for Christmas and this was arranged for the 17th September 2018 in North Weald. We arrived nice and early and used the Red Bus catering that "is not part of the experience and managed by a seperate company". Have seen lots of reviews that put the two services together, their not. Food was good BTW. Anyway, once the girls had all arrived, we proceeded to a swift check-in and the girls then went for the briefing. We didn't opt for the spotting lap - As many have said, £5 for a lap in a minibus isn't exactly as thrill but chose if you do not feel comfortable finding your way around. Aso, after reading many reviews, this IS NOT a race day so do not expect a track. This is cleverly constructed lap created with cones.. Not too small, not too big but was right for the girls to have fun. From the experience, they had 8 laps each. Lambo, Aston martin and the R8. I also paid an extra £15 each for a lap in the Lotus with a pro-driver. Yes, this isn't cheap but where else does that happen (Unless you joy ride of course!) The ONLY criticism I have is the cost of the pics and vids. £45.00 isn't a viable option in my opinion and I think they would make more £ by lowering the cost to make them more appealing. Overall, the girls had an awesome day. The other thing to note, I didn't think I would be able to drive as the weight limit does state 18st but speaking to them, if you can fit in a car, you can drive it so if you are a bigger lad / lass - Go for it!

Drove my dream car.. excellent instructor

Bought for me by my sister-in-law and family for my 40th birthday last July. A really nice present I thought, but I didn't get the chance to use it until recently. Unfortunately it was about to expire so I had to pay about £20 to extend the voucher. Then I went to book the experience and went all round the houses trying to find a venue and a time that I could do, before being charged another £25 for a weekend slot! Anyway, went to Blyton near Gainsborough for the experience. As usual they try to get you pay £25 extra for your insurance excess waiver and then afterwards up to £50 for video and photos. As you can see it can get very expensive extras. As for the driving - well the R8 is a lovely car with a great sound when you open up the throttle. My instructor was also really nice and helpful. However, the weather was pretty bad (no-one's fault obviously) which meant I had to take it easy, and the track was pretty short. Also there were a lot of junior drivers (12-17) out in supercars which meant a lot of slow traffic to pass. Overall then, a good morning out, and a very kind present, but can't whole heartedly recommend spending your hard-earned cash on it.

Had an Audi R8 experience given to me for my birthday and it was the best present I’ve ever had!! Drove the Lamborghini and the R8 both amazing to drive and instructors were really friendly and helpful ?? had a passenger ride in the wee lotus elise rally car and it was absolutely amazing!! Best thing ever!! Would highly recommend the driving experience!!

It was a very wet afternoon but was still able to enjoy the experience of driving the Audi R8

We were told at our safety briefing that their aim was to put a smile on our faces.... I didn't stop smiling from the moment I got into the R8 until the moment I got out. Brilliant experience.

Very well organised day with everything explained very well. Would 100% recommend to anyone that's got even a slight interest in cars or driving. Couldn't believe how good the car was and it really is a great opportunity.
