The Lancaster simulator which was absolutely wonderful and the staff were excellent.
You first do a familiarisation flight where you get used to the controls (and fly under the Severn Bridge!). It's pretty hard, but that's part of the challenge - of course, these planes were hard to fly and you really can 'feel' you are piloting a real heavyweight of a plane.
The next flight takes place Germany, to fly over the famous dams of the Dambusters mission. On one of the dams, I was allowed to fly low over the dam a number of times, down to about 50ft on a pseudo mission. On one of those approaches, I 'kissed' the water ???????, but otherwise all good.
I loved it all. My Dad was a pilot in Bomber Command in WWII and I now have just an inkling of his experience.

Friendly staff on site. Not easy to master flying a bomber as a non pilot but the instruction was very good and helpful and after a while I was getting the hang of it. Really enjoyed the experience and managed to complete the bombing of the dams several times.
