Afternoon Tea to celebrate my daughters Birthday A lovely way to spend an afternoon. I would recommend this experience

We received the Buy-a-Gift voucher from a family member as a little treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Eventually as covid restrictions began to be lifted, my wife and myself had begun to venture out into the real world again. Most establishments seemed to be operating with adherence to the covid restrictions really quite well, however, our celebration afternoon tea at the Bailiffs Court seemed to show little evidence of ANY covid cleaning or hygiene preparations at tables. In the part of the hotel we were directed to on arrival turned out to be little more than a corridor with a near constant stream of other guests, staff and dogs and pets passing our table. The presentation of the food was poor and the waiting staff seemed to be a selection of students or others with little or no social skills. At one time a waitress asking a couple in their 70’s ‘was that OK for “you guys”? Food was meagre and not fit for a celebration afternoon tea. We will not be visiting again.
