Create your own authentic artisan pork pie under the guidance of an expert pie maker! This enthralling course will give you hands-on experience of pie preparation, working with the meat and understanding how the use of other meat cuts or spices will change the taste of the pie. You will also learn how to create great hot water crust pastry for your pie, and prepare it with a side of farmhouse piccalilli too. Pork pie for the best that a man can make!

Having never even contemplated making something that would be difficult. When I received a cookery course from colleagues, I had procrastinated in sorting it out. And only just booking within the expiry. I chose a pork pie and chutney course up in the Peak District. Julie was very helpful in booking, tine flew by and next thing I had to book accommodation in the area. It was a far larger proportion of men attending the course. All very relaxed with Julie and Chris welcoming us all. Jacqui from Penistone pies was our teacher. The tables were individual workstations with all the tools needed. I found as did everyone else the step guide very logical with done Q&A about certain aspects. We worked to complete our pie before taking a lunch break, having all local cheeses and a sample of Jacquis pork pies, the benchmark. I think everyone's pie turned out well and we finished it off by adding the gelatine and before you know it time to go. Interspersed the group made a communal chutney which we would get a pot to take back. I'd heartily recommend it as its in a gorgeous location town if Bakewell. Great atmosphere and proud of my pie!

Very enjoyable course, spent with a friendly group of people. Making the pork pie was great fun and Jacqui who ran the course was very helpful and made it seem easy! Great to have a pie to take home and the family certainly enjoyed tucking into it!
