Lovely hour well spent
12 January 2020
The venue is located in Bermondsey by Maltby's food market. The space is small but lovely. The room was almost full with 16 people and the beer expert was knowledgeable and funny. We tried 3 types of honey beers - blonde, IPA and dark. There was also a small plate of pairing food available: some slices of manchego and salami, along with some dry crisps and dark bread. She talked us through how to taste the beer, how they produce it, beer keeping, etc. We were also able to try some locally made honey. We spent about 1h30 in the location. Remember it's a tasting with some food pairing so the amount of food is very small and each person is given half of each of the 3 beers from a can/small bottle, so you will drink about 700 ml of alcohol so I advise eating before. Had a good time.

Lovely afternoon out in London

Great way to sample some delicious honey beers whilst learning about the production process of both the beers and the honey. Very interesting to hear about the benefits of urban beekeeping and how to tell a quality honey apart from farmed honey. Also had a few snacks to pair with each of the beers we tried which was a nice little extra.

The Hiver beer was very nice. Tried 3 different types, a blonde, ipa and ale. Nibbles were okay and guide was knowledgeable. Only disappointment was there was no takeaway gift as stated on ticket.

Very informative & friendly staff,my husband couldn't make it unfortunately but they made me feel so welcome & I would definitely go back, hopefully with my husband next time. I'm bit sad I didn't get my bee hotel that was promised but I won't let that upset what was a great experience.

Unique but fun experience

We really enjoyed this experience, having never done anything like it before. The lady who ran our session was the manager of the taproom & was very friendly & knowledgable, always happy to answer any questions. It was a very relaxed experience & you we able to try roughly 1/2 a bottle of each of the beers on offer, some of the local honey & hops that the beers are made with, along with an array of nibbles per table to eat you way through. All round a good experience.

Great relaxing experience

What a lovely beer tasting we had. Sophie was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable and fun. We tasted a range of honey beers which were all very tasty. We learnt lots about honey beers and how Hiver Beers support beekeepers. The bar downstairs was very casual and welcoming and we were even invited to bring in food from the nearby street market if we wanted too. Fantastic experience, we really enjoyed ourselves,

Better than a general present. An experience to remember.

The weather was perfect for the bees. The keeper was very knowledgeable, and explained things clearly, and gave plenty of hands on experience. The beer tasting part was also very informative and welcome on such a hot day. The whole thing was perfect, smashing day all round.

Random , yet pleasant experience
14 October 2017
This was truly odd. A Lovely place, however the chap leading the experience was a stand-in who was simply doing his best. The beer was lovely, and was served with some honey, bread, cheese, salami and vegetable crisps. The chap talked about random stuff as well as the beer...it was truly odd, we did however, enjoy ourselves!
