As it is

Yesterday we had our "Buy a gift "Christmas present at Saltmarsh Hall,,everything was spot on,,the attention given to us by all the staff was first class,,from the reception desk, to the young man who served our tea,,and to the lady behind the bar,,they were super friendly and nothing too much trouble,,and the afternoon tea itself was the best afternoon tea,,we have had.We walked round the gardens and sat near the pool where people who were swimming said it was marvellous, wish we could have jumped in,,maybe another time.So Got a voucher is a fantastic present for anyone ,,we certainly enjoyed our luxury afternoon tea,,thankyou to everyone for making the experience special.

Beautiful gardens but a shame the afternoon tea was so disappointing
11 July 2023
The venue is really beautiful. However the afternoon tea was very disappointing. The overall service level was poor. Guests were having to ask repeatedly for tea and coffee, side plates, sugar, condiments. The quality of the beverages was poor, weak Luke warm coffee etc. The food was a collection of very mundane sandwiches and small cakes. The most appetising was the scone, which was delicious. Most of the cakes tasted as if they had been baked with excess salt and were inedible. The staff were very young and didn’t appear to have a clue. However it must be said they were very pleasant. We could also see other tables sending back beverages and repeatedly asking for items. They served a table of 6 with just one sandwich and cake tier. They had to asked for more food.

Christmas in Summer Time
05 July 2022
Our Christmas present was a gift from my Mum & Dad to attend afternoon tea at Saltmarshe Hall. We waited until July because the trip also included a walk around their gardens, and we wanted to see them in full bloom. Tea was at 14:00 hrs and we arrived 5 mins before. Parked in front of the house and went in, via the front door. A simple, George building with some intresting features. We where met by staff and taken to our table. Clean and white table cloth with side plates and cup & saucer each with knife & fork. Coffee arrived, my wife poured and it was cold. We ask why? The waitress was sorry, they had just refilled the water boiler and she failed to check that it was hot. A fresh hot pot was brought out and all was fine. We had cheese, salmon, ham & egg sandwiches. Warm scones with cream and jam. Then a selection of small cakes, some dry, some nice and some strange tasting. The cakes were not home made. After my wife and I wondered the grounds and had a pleasant afternoon in the sun. A nice Christmas in the sun but Saltmarshe could put some improvement changes in, like better cakes.

A Great Day Out
08 June 2022
We had a wonderful afternoon at Saltmarshe Hall. After a walk around the walled garden we made our way to the path along the side of the river. We headed towards Saltmarshe where we found a bench on the river bank and enjoyed a sit in the sun. Then off to the Hall for an excellent afternoon tea with champagne. The staff were attentive. Overall a great day out.
