Very informative and friendly experience. Lovely lunch too. Even my partner who doesn't drink wine loved it and tried all the wines.

Great day out
26 October 2019
From our arrival to departure we felt welcomed and hosted by the gregarious and knowledgeable Graham. The walk to see the vines was pleasant but for the less mobile it was possible to drive. Seeing inside the barn where the wine production was underway gave the opportunity for a fulsome explanation of the wine-making process and then back to the shop/cafe for the tasting session where tables were ready set out with our names. This consisted of five still white wines, one champagne style and one red. Normally a red drinker, I was actually impressed with the whites. We were led through with a helpful commentary and the cheerful ex football club also in attendance added to the atmosphere! Lunch was simple but generous: a Caesar salad followed by ice cream, all beautifully presented. I gather that there is a more seasonal menu from November. There was an opportunity to make purchases in the small shop before leaving and we certainly intend to return, perhaps for the tour and tea next time. Currently they do not have the space to offer unbooked meals or refreshments but this is something they are considering for the future. The grounds are quirky, with statuary and reclamation pieces scattered around. On a dull day it was altogether a most agreeable experience.

Great time at Chiltern Hall vineyard - touring the vineyard and learning a lot about the wine making process. Followed by wine tasting (5 wines) and a two-course lunch. Really nice 'thank you' gift for wine lovers - and we got to go too!

Relaxed fun vibes

We really enjoyed the morning here at Chilford Hall. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly, and the tasting was superb. We would even go again, but perhaps for afternoon tea this time as we had lunch, which was also great.

Something Different
16 September 2019
I was bought this experience as a gift as I have always said I have wanted to try it. The venue was lovely, and we had lovely weather for it which was a bonus. I can't imagine it being that impactful if the weather was grey! Our tour guide walk us up to the vines which took about 15 minutes to talk about how the vines are grown for the perfect English wine. The only thing I would say is that there was a very big group of us, so it didn't seem very personal. A Smaller group would have been nice as I didn't feel I shared the experience with the big group (felt a little bit like a school trip). The wine tasting was at the end of the trip after we had been shown round the vineyard and the rest of the grounds, this sadly felt like the part that went the quickest! The wines were interesting as they were made on sight, nice to try something a little different from the usual. Lunch was served to everyone at once, a Caesar salad which everyone had. It would have been nice to have the choice on what to have for lunch, but was still tasty all the same. It was a Fun experience and I would recommend it as a day out if you love wine and want to know how its made!
