Lovely hotel

Lovely hotel and there is park and ride next to it. £2 a ticket and can use all day. Just a shame the buses stop after 7pm. X

Okay as a base

The hotel was pleasant in itself, but the soundproofing was terrible. We were wakened at around midnight to the couple next door cackling followed by his very loud snoring. My hearing isn’t great and even I heard it. The breakfast was fairly standard. We didn’t have dinner to be able to comment. There is a park and ride 5 mins drive away which for £2 a person takes you direct into Chester with the last bus back being about 6:50. We walked back which was just under 2 mile walk which was fairly easy. So pretty good location if you don’t want to be in the centre of town. Overall I’d give this hotel an OK.

Experience was a great gift however I would not recommend the hotel we stayed in which was the Mercure Chester hotel. Very grubby looking and not a clean room the bit gift itself was a nice idea and very thoughtful.

Really Lovely x

My husband and I had a lovely, relaxing time at the Chester Mercure Hotel. Despite there being a huge corporate event being held at the same time as our visit, the staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The food at the on-site restaurant was very nice although the service a little slow. I would certainly recommend it to anyone wanting a nice, relaxing break.

Great location for visiting Chester with Park and Ride within a few minutes walk from hotel. Hotel was clean and staff were most helpful and welcoming our stay was for one night with morning breakfast which we both enjoyed.

I thought this was an amazing gift and a great weekend for myself and my husband . It was a wedding gift from one of our friends . The hotel was central to all the destinations we were visiting for example Chester zoo and chester oaks outlet and chester city centre too . The hotel is very friendly and clean.

Lovely mid week break.

We altered our gift from a spa break to a two day hotel break and then paid a little extra to the hotel and upgraded to one of their refurbished rooms. It was well worth the small extra cost. The bed was enormous, yet there was still room for bedside tables, two easy chairs, a desktop for my laptop and a TV. The restaurant was good value - the locals obviously thought so too - we had to book a table for dinner as there were always large groups of people who had booked at the restaurant for an event. This particular hotel was a couple of minutes walk from a Park & Ride, so we could leave our car at the hotel and take an easy bus ride into Chester without the hassle of trying to find our way around the one way system, or trying to find a car park. I can recommend this hotel for visitors to Chester. It also has it's own gardens and backs on to open fields.

Spa Hotel lets tell....
11 December 2012
We arrived an hour early so asked if we could get into our room .The smiley lady said "No" as the rooms had not been finished / cleaned yet. We decided too shoot off and shop at Cheshire Oaks which is well worth a visit. The Mercure Hotel is only a few miles away. Once in the room later in the day I first noticed that there was not alot of space for the suitcase too be left open as we were only there for one night. After searching for the cups and tea making items we came across them in a draw of the cabinet , again possibly due too space. The room had no heating thermostat so you could not turn the heating up / down or even adjust the radiator as this had been locked off. It did become hot and stuffy so we ended up having too open the windows during the night which lead too a little noise but not enough too bother about. We did like the Spa and pool area and found the pool itself too be nice and warm......great after a long drive ! The bar was the next move and although plenty of seats the Wi-Fi was terrible on our phones and the iPad....my advise, dont bother as its not even available in the rooms, only in public areas which is a pain too get on. The staff in the Bar were quick too serve even though a wedding party ( lovely Bride ) was attending the night we were there. Prices for drinks are a concern and for a Pint and a small Gin and Tonic for £9.60 you can see what I mean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and very attentive staff willing too assist. Its a shame that price at the bar and lack of space were issues as I think we would go back sometime if only too be close too Cheshire Oaks for shopping and of course Chester which is always nice too visit.
