Thornbury Castle is the ideal place for a quiet celebration with afternoon tea. The setting is amazing, service very friendly and the food and drink outstanding. I would definitely recommend this.

Thornbury Castle is a lovely venue, the food and service were very good but we were given a sparkling rose wine instead of champagne, just told they had changed it!!

Superb food and cakes all round and much improved ( I went several years ago under different ownership and this time was much better food). A couple of points though, they don’t replenish the tea after your first cup which negates the point of the tea timer and if you want any changes to the menu you have to say so when you book, there is no flex in what they provide on the day, so they lose a star on customer service. Otherwise this would be perfect in every way.

We very much enjoyed our afternoon tea at Thornbury Castle which lived up to the venue’s reputation. The food was delicious and plentiful (we took home some of the cakes in a box provided) and the surroundings very comfortable. All of the staff were very friendly and efficient making it an afternoon to remember.

Champagne never arrived !
Although sandwiches and scones were lovely, the small cakes were heavy and over sweet. Waitress was helpful and polite, but at reception the man rushed off saying "follow me" and left me stranded as I walk slowly with a stick.
