With this friendly and accessible class that’s tailored for your level of experience, you’ll learn to make delicious Indian food at home. Everyone from nervous cooks to budding Madhur Jaffreys will learn a huge amount on this half-day course. There is a range of themed classes to choose from, including Curry in a Hurry, Dinner Party Group Class and Vegetarian Cooking. You’ll start by filling out a questionnaire about your confidence in the kitchen and what flavours you’d like to focus on, before entering the kitchen in your small group, donning your apron, and getting your spice on! You’ll learn to make five authentic Indian curry dishes from scratch, and pick up tips and techniques that will furnish you with the knowledge to tweak the recipes, and perhaps even invent your own combinations at home. At the end of the lesson, take all the delicious dishes you have made home with you to share with friends and family.

A great morning with Ren and the other 5 students. Very relaxed, educational and hands on experience. Ren made everyone feel very welcome from the beginning and I learned lots about spices and curry cooking techniques. Fabulous day highly recommended.

A really fun way to learn proper Indian cooking
02 October 2018
Ren was fab – she taught us so much about spices and how to use them. We made the best curry I've ever eaten, as well as a load of side dishes that I'd never even have thought about making! Plus, Ren is a delightfully funny and charming person. Highly recommended.

An utterly fun and informative cooking experience
22 April 2016
I thoroughly enjoyed my Ren's Kitchen experience. It was well organised, thorough and as a complete Indian Cooking novice, I had plenty of questions which were answered throughout the session. Ren herself is a Master at her craft, a very entertaining personality who injects a lot of fun and humour into her teaching and encouraging interaction with the other students (some of whom I met for the first time at the start of the session) which made for an even more enjoyable experience. It was great to be able to take home the Indian meals we cooked, and the hard copy recipes we all received will ensure I'll be able to easily cook the meals at home in future. The kitchen set up is bright, clean, homely and private, the perfect setting for these unique and intimate cooking sessions. Thanks Ren for a fantastic few hours, I'll certainly be recommending this to my friends and anyone who has a penchant for either doing the activity themselves, or giving a gift with a difference. I'd also high five Ren's assistant Sonia, who does a sterling job with all the booking/arrangement/reminder bits and provides a welcomingly thorough and professional customer service experience - thank you! Lastly, there are some great Indian cooking packs and spice collections which can be purchased at the end which have been lovingly prepared by Ren's team, which will lend authenticity (not to mention more flavour!) and simplicity to my Indian cooking at home.

A Wonderful Experience
11 January 2016
Ren is very knowledgeable about spices and, now, so am I. The class was more friends having a fun day than a teacher and her pupils. From start to finish, we were all smiling. The only thing, perhaps, larger than her knowledge of Indian ingredients and cooking is her personality.

Spiceology treat!
12 July 2015
Great curry lesson from Ren. She's knowledgeable, friendly, funny and enthusiastic. The 5 other people were great company too and everyone was put at ease by Ren. You get out what you put in but Ren doesn't stand for slackers, so be ready to peel, cut, grate and stir! What a reward though, with the best tasting curry I've ever helped cook. Went straight home and made a batch of my own to top up what we made, so that my family could enjoy it all too. What Ren doesn't know about spices isn't worth knowing, but be prepared to dump some of your supermarket spices in her 'Sin Bin,' when you taste spices as they are meant to be.

Excellent day all round. Ren is great at explaining, very relaxed and knowledgeable. All the recipes made taste pukka (and not like the pie!). Eternally glad my GF brought me this, though i think she's probably regretting the 20th consecutive curry in a row since then ;-)

the Half day Indian cooking class was a real treat and I learned so much about the spices used in Indian cuisine which was expertly explained by host cook, Ren. Her teaching skills are second to none and the group is made to feel at ease very quickly. I had a great time whilst learning key skills. Can't wait to return for further classes.
