Get stuck into life at the zoo with this keeper for a day experience for two people at Dartmoor Zoo. You’ll have the chance to experience the daily tasks of a keeper and come face to face with a range of curious creatures. Work alongside the expert team as you learn about animal diets, nutrition, husbandry, training and enrichment, doing your bit to keep the animals happy and healthy. From feeding and cleaning the goats to making friends with some meerkats and a family of otters and even enjoying a session with the bugs and reptiles, you’ll get to know a range of animals. Enjoy entry to the rest of the zoo for the day, with a slice of cake and hot drink included for an extra treat.

What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
- Available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8am, year round, excluding Christmas Eve to Boxing Day
- It is recommended that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Dates are available up to six months in advance
- Please allow five hours for the whole experience
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Please note, this experience is hands-on with a bit of hard work required
- This experience is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has a high blood pressure or is of a nervous disposition
- The enclosure grounds may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather. Sturdy and supportive footwear is recommended, as well as clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
- Most of the zoo is accessible to wheelchairs and buggies, but some paths may be challenging, with hilly and rugged areas. The team is available to help when needed
- All dates are subject to availability
