Wonderful afternoon

This voucher was used to celebrate our sons 30th so we wee a party of 6 plus a baby and dog! We were set up in the balcony area on our own with a private lounge next door to use so we had a wonderful afternoon. The food was good not exceptional or amazing but very enjoyable. We enjoyed walking around the grounds afterwards so a very pleasant afternoon treat to remember.

The staff were so welcoming and polite. They checked on us regularly that all was well. We enjoyed the food. One of us was gluten free and the quality of the food was so tasty. A beautiful setting, perfect for a traditional Afternoon Tea. Thank you.

We booked at Thornbury Castle Hotel using our voucher and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea. However, the following day we received an email asking for payment for our meal. If took several emails and a couple of telephone calls to sort it out.
We were not impressed with the hotel.

Thornbury Castle is a wonderful place to visit. Beautiful gardens and an authentic and atmospheric building. Our tea in the library was attractively arranged and delicious. Impeccable service too. A great afternoon.

I bought an afternoon tea voucher for my friends birthday. This is the second time I have done this. It is a fantastic place. We walked around the grounds. We were encouraged to look around the castle if though it is a hotel. The afternoon tea was a fantastic. They were happy for us to take some cakes home. I will go again.

Beautiful venue but small room crammed together with no atmosphere and you could hear a pin drop so nobody was talking on the other tables as we could all hear eachother. Staff friendly when they were around, had one pot of tea between two of us which we finished fairly quickly and we wernt offered another and there was nobody around to ask. Scones warm and lovely, sandwiches disappointing, all bread and no filling, had to open the egg mayo to see what was inside. We expected more of a wow factor for £45 per head

Lovely setting, staff very friendly and helpful and the tea was very well presented. My only slight issue was the price at £40 per head I think is a little overpriced compared to similar.
Also booking was originally cancelled due to an overbooking of an event and had to reschedule a week later which was a pain as was booked for a birthday. On the day offered a bottle of bubbly as an apology and a little belated birthday creation from the chef, which was very thoughtful. Overall a very nice experience!

The food was lovely and well presented. We were well attended to and when it became obvious that we weren't going to finish it all, we were given a box.
