One Night Break at Thornbury Castle 10919891

Spent a night at the lovely Thornbury Castle. Beautiful historic setting for a wonderful hotel. Staff were great and the meals were superb.

My partner and I have just enjoyed a fabulous one night stay at Thornbury castle. Prior to check in, we were offered standby upgrades (for additional fees), but we were happy with the deluxe standard room. We were allocated De Clare. Check in was seamless. The weather was kind and we enjoyed the grounds. In the evening, we chose to eat in thornbury, a 10 minute walk. The room was gorgeous. A 4 poster bed, amazing Molton brown toiletries, powerful shower. The included breakfast was tasty and unhurried. The cost of vouchers has almost doubled since I purchased mine almost a year ago. However, for what I paid, it was an amazing deal.

Bought a voucher for a night at Thornbury castle as a birthday gift for my husband. We both really enjoyed it, the service was excellent. The breakfast was really good and we also booked an evening meal which was fantastic. Could not recommend highly enough.

My wife bought the overnight stay as a Christmas present but we waited until my birthday in June to take the experience. We had a wonderful overnight stay. We paid a bit extra to upgrade our room which contained a sumptuous four poster bed with lovely views of the grounds and castle walls. The castle is smaller and more intimate than we expected and very peaceful. We ate at the castle and had very nice food, the whole experience was very relaxing and enjoyable. Staff were friendly and attentitive. Thoroughly enjoyable stay.

A lovely experience and worth the money. Thornbury is a wonderful setting. It wasn't obvious before booking the voucher that there were some terms and conditions as to when our stay was valid for and that extra money would be incurred for weekends. That was disappointing and it also made booking the experience more difficult.

Spent a Saturday night to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Upgraded our room to deluxe. Absolutely wonderful room with 4-poster bed, open fire and stone walls. Approach to the room was via a stone spiral staircase. We stayed in the Woodstock Room. The free toiletries in the bathroom were really luxurious. The classic rooms are lovely and many have 4 poster beds - these are all in the South Wing. You may be disappointed if you book and don't have the 4-poster, so it is definitely worth checking which room you have when you book with the hotel. Would definitely recommend this experience. Thornbury Castle is steeped in history and you cannot fail to be impressed. The breakfast was top notch, with a choice of main courses cooked for you, including cornish smoked haddock and salmon! We also had a voucher for 3 course dinner, which was absolutely georgeous. We started with rabbit ravioli, followed by pan fried sea bass and then rubarb parfait. Presentation was really special. Was a truly wonderful christmas gift.

The castle was lovely and gardens beautiful but not a lot to do onsite and big disappointment was we didn't get the room we booked with four poster and was up in the attic almost. Lovely room and castle just not experience we were expecting. Food lovely too.

We stayed at thornbury castle for one night , from the moment we arrived we were looked after, we were shown to our room at it was amazing the bed was massive and the room had a beautiful sofa in , the bathroom was fab , I'm looking already to go back
