Faulty towers

The hotel is tired and in need of TLC, however our room was clean. Our room was above the kitchen and the first night it seems they left the extractor fan on all night so there was an irritating buzzing so we didn't get much sleep. We reported to reception next morning then went for breakfast. Breakfast was chaos, clearly the chef had either not turned up or was sick as the duty manager was in the kitchen in his suit doing his best. I don't think they really had the facilities to provide a full breakfast so they shouldn't! There pizza oven was being used to cook sausage/bacon/eggs and then they were heating up beans etc on what looked like a camping stove. I was gobsmacked when I went back to get toast to see the duty manager take raw sausage with his bare hands and put in frying pan, then without washing his hands replenished the bread in basket! Our sausage was raw when we cut into it! We reported all to receptionist again! 2nd night we were sat in bed watching TV when the whole bed collapsed, I am waiting for a hip replacement operation so as you can imagine any unexpected jolts causes me days of excruciating pain. Tried to call reception but found in room phone not working! After a visit to hotel reception was given keys to another room, had to pack and move! The saddest thing really is that they didn't seem to care that we had a bad experience, we were told on leaving that the manager would call or email us personally, it's a week now and we've not heard. This was a gift from my family for my 60th birthday , complete disaster! I would like buy a gift to get a refund from the hotel and offer us an alternative weekend as we would never go there again !
