Lovely afternoon tea
We were gifted a voucher and chose to have afternoon tea at Lifton Hall, a lovely village hotel with lots of character. The dining/pub side is small but nicely laid out.
The afternoon tea was delicious and included a lovely hot tomato soup and vegetable spring roll with chilli sauce, which was a nice change to standard afternoon tea. In addition to this there were two lovely sandwiches (cheddar with coleslaw and beef with horseradish), apple crumble with custard, a fruit & pistachio nut cake, a lemon sponge, a carrot cake and of course scones with jam and cream. (Sorry Devon, but we are from Cornwall- if you know you know).
We also had an individual bottle of prosecco with a pot of tea.
The staff were friendly and the chef was very informative of the ingredients.
I would absolutely recommend, it was delicious (and very filling), set in a peaceful location. Already suggested to others and would go again to try the Farmhouse style afternoon tea which includes a pasty ??.

Lovely afternoon tea
The table was all ready for us and we enjoyed our prosecco before the delicious food arrived. A really good mix of sweet and savoury with some different choices that we'd never seen before. We had a different tea each which was fine with them. We did end up bringing some of the cakes home as we just couldn't eat it all in one sitting. Staff were friendly and it was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Excellent afternoon tea
We had a lovely experience. The food was delicious and inventive - the mini cups of spiced vegetable soup and spring rolls were especially appreciated as we are vegetarian. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And we finished by bringing home all the cakes we were too full to eat.

Birthday treat
We were visiting this area of Devon and decided to try and use my Buyagift voucher and I’m so glad we did. This Afternoon Tea was one of the best we’ve had, and we’ve had a few. It wasn’t your usual Afternoon Tea, even though it had sandwiches, cakes, scones etc, we were also given hot onion bhaji’s, and mushroom soup. Delicious. When we are back in the area we will be visiting again.
