Chessington: World of Adventures Entry for One

The gift voucher we had, had a value of £100. We used it to exchange vouchers for Chessington World of Adventures. With the £100 voucher, we were able to purchase two tickets and had £8 towards a third. We paid to obtain a third ticket. We needed four tickets, so went to purchase one from thr Chessington website. If we had purchased 4 tickets on the Chessington site, it would have cost us £137. We returned to the Buy a Gift Website to use the vouchers to book our three tickets. We had to pay an additional £3.89 to allow us to book the day we wanted. In all, to purchase the third ticket with the partial amount left of our £100 voucher, plus the supplements we had to pay to allow us to book the day we wanted, we paid an additional £67 to Buy a Gift. They had already received £100 from my brother for the voucher, meaning, for our trip to Chessington, they received £167 from our family in exchange for four tickets which, if purchased directly from the Chessington website, would have cos £137. Therefore, somewhere, our family has lost £30 of value. Buy a Gift represents an easy gift to give, but represents exceptionally poor value for money (as experienced with previous vouchers we've received that we've used for meals and have had to choose from a limited menu). It is a thoughtful gift for people to give and is packaged very well, but those looking to give a gift would be better giving the cash directly to the recipient with a note to say 'use this to put towards a day out of your choice'. I understand that Buy a Gift have to make money, but every voucher we've been given (for which we've of course been very grateful for), we've ended up feeling cheated in terms of value and we feel bad that the person who has bought us the gift has been cheated out of money.
