About the experience
Enjoy an exciting day out and potentially find a new hobby to get your teeth stuck into. This brilliant session includes all consumables and protective equipment and starts with all the necessary instruction and safety training from an expert instructor, so you are comfortable and confident for your experience. You'll then be fitted for your gun and head out with your guide for an hour-long one-to-one session. Have a go at shooting these moving targets – you may shoot up to 100 cartridges! This is sure to be an exhilarating and fun day out to get you into the swing of clay pigeon shooting.
What do I need to know?
- All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
- Your voucher is valid for one person
- Available week round, excluding the third Sunday of every month and Christmas, Boxing Day and New Years Day
- Minimum age: 12 years
- Anyone aged 16 or under must be accompanied by a spectating adult
- As the venue has wheelchair access, disabled participants are welcome (please advise details at the point of booking)
- This experience lasts for an hour, but please allow an additional fifteen minutes for gun fitting and briefing
- Please dress according to the weather. Warm layers which allow free movement are recommended
- There are safe areas for spectators who are also welcome to frequent the clubhouse and adjoining patio
- Pets are not permitted on-site for safety reasons
- This is a one-to-one session and you may shoot up to 100 cartridges

A great experience
I arrived a bit early but was guided to the reception to sign in and was able to start earlier than the time I had booked which was great.
My instructor John got me kitted up and asked if the weight of the gun he selected was good for me and explained that I would need to be able to move with it smoothly while shooting.
Next, we made our way to the first shooting area where John explained gun safety and the correct way to hold the gun while shooting. John also asked if there was anything I didn't understand to let him know and he explain again but using a different way to help me understand.
Once done we began shooting which was great, John explained and showed you where the clay was going to come from and where the best point to start following it once it was released.
While over my 1 hour of shooting, we went to the 4 different shooting areas which were all different, which made it fun and John would provide advice to assist me if my shooting.

Shooting success
Upon arrival you are offered a drink and sit down with your instructor to determine your skill level/what you would like to achieve from your visit. It is all very relaxed and makes you feel comfortable, rather than just being another customer to get through the system.
The emphasis is on what you want - tips in technique or just a one off session of fun. Once the instructor knows what you would like, you head out to start.
The instructor was extremely good. Explaining everything in simple but effective detail ensuring even someone with no experience is happy with what to do. The instructor is also excellent at improving your abilities and by the end of the session you will be very pleasantly surprised.
It was an excellent set up full of a good variety of shoots that ensures you will have fun. The time flies and I would definitely like to go again.
