About the experience

Explore your creativity with this unique print workshop for two. This insightful experience will teach you about traditional Japanese printing methods and the process of hand printing. Using Japanese bamboo barens, discover the art to this ancient technique, whilst delving a little deeper and using multiple blocks and reduction-cutting practises to create more complex, coloured prints. Experiment with your favourite designs or harmonise colours to achieve your desired effects. Make multiple prints to proudly roll up and take home. This inspiring workshop is a fantastic opportunity to master the methods of creating high-impact woodcut art in a sociable studio environment.

  • Learn how to use traditional Japanese hand tools
  • Discover the process of inking woodblocks and printing on different types of handmade paper

  • Unfortunately, there is no disabled access into the venue

  • You are encouraged to bring along photos and drawings for creative inspiration
  • Currently, workshops will either run on a one-to-one basis or as a group of no more than three people
