Sadly not to the standard we had hoped
First impressions weren’t great as we entered the changing rooms only to discover that most of the lockers didn’t work! Then we walked in to the spa area where one of the first things we saw was a wall with the tiles off and a pile of rubble on the floor! The spa bath was just at the side of the swimming pool so not only was it not warm but to reach the button to turn it on (as it turned off every 10minutes) you had to get out of the spa via the pool steps and walk around the pool edge to switch it back on again! I usually love to lay back and relax in a spa, but not this time! The pool was ok, as to were the steam and sauna. Our day was redeemed by our Elemis treatments which were very relaxing, and the excellent service by the staff in the restaurant who served our afternoon tea. It was certainly a very generous gift but unfortunately, even though we paid a significant ‘top up’ the hotel spa didn’t live up to our expectations.
