For Mum Gift Voucher

Bought afternoon tea for myself and my daughter and we had a lovely time. The place is gorgeous and the afternoon tea was a delight

I recommend this experience to any Liverpool fans.

I was sent a voucher for a West End Show by my daughter. The range of shows available was very limited but we picked one and found the only seats available had limited view unless we paid extra - much more than the original cost of the voucher. We had little extra cash to spare but the one good thing was we could choose another gift. We chose something which should have left spare credit but still I'm unsure how to use that remaining credit. I had another of these vouchers so registered it believing credit would be held at person level but it appears to be at voucher level - a very odd way to work. I ended up with 5 computer widows open as it kept asking me to log in again - I hadn't logged out so why and why open an extra window? It appeared that this system is used to clear the seats the theatres cannot sell, not the valued treat that the person sending the voucher intended. The restaurants offered in the meal treats are also very limited and far afield. Overall I spent about 4 hrs trying to arrange just one 'treat' and felt extremely frustrated and not even confident that the voucher posted to me (I received twice by the way) would work when I arrived. The advice on the voucher itself was also very confusing, telling me to confirm the booking with the venue - why? More stress.

Peckforton Castle is a beautiful place, the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Its a shame the food was disappointing, the ham sandwiches were described as honey roasted Wiltshire ham with a mustard mayonnaise, the actual ham was pale pink, wafer thin and no mustard or mayonnaise. the beef was pink and no taste of horseradish cream. The cakes were small, there was 5 to share between 2! and the fruit scones were undercooked . Also we weren't asked if we wanted more tea or coffee. Other diners tea wasn't so small, so i'm thinking ours was because it was your voucher instead of their own, or pay on the day. its supposed to be a bargain but its not.
