Afternoon Tea in Lake District

The afternoon tea at Stanton Manor Hotel was one of the best I’ve had. There were dainty sandwiches (with crusts cut off), small bites of 3 different types of cake & both plain & fruit scones with jam & cream or maybe cream & jam if you prefer! The staff were friendly but didn’t hover around you. We were offered refills of tea on several occasions without having to ask. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon so we took the time to walk around the garden & then just enjoy the peace & quiet in the shade of an umbrella on the patio. A fabulous way to spend an afternoon & would definitely go back.

The whole experience was a delight from arriving to departure. All the staff were welcoming, pleasant but not overbearing. The lounge was clean and a relaxing atmosphere. All the food was delicious and well presented.

Beautiful setting overlooking the river. Good weather enabled tea to be taken outside but we were given a choice on this. Staff were welcoming and attentive without interfering. Good choice of food provided.

Made to feel welcome on arrival. Staff friendly. Afternoon tea was very nice with attention to my husband who does eat cheese. Plenty of clotted cream and jam for fluffy scones.

Huge variety of gifts to choose from. Easy to follow instructions. SOmetimes some offers can catch you out in terms of booking initial voucher then having to pay substantially more for a specific date/tour etc so I would recemmned you to read all details and find out inforamtion via emails/phone calls before purchasing anything. Other than that, the process and events are outstanding.

Beautiful surroundings-the Castle and rooms were a great location for the Afternoon Tea, which was delicious. Made to feel very welcome by the owner. We will come back if we're in the area again ,but will book direct next time.

Great food, good service, lovely views

My husband and I had a wonderful time. The food was lovely and there was plenty tea and coffee available. It was really good to have hot food served. E.g. panini, chilli puffs, quiche and hot Mediterranean soup. We sat in front of a cosy log fire on comfy chairs.
