Overview

Spoil someone special with a lavish afternoon tea at the picturesque Priest House by the River. Choose a cosy corner in the Millstream Bar or, if the weather allows, you can take your tea out on the terrace, which sits snuggly on the banks of the tranquil River Trent. You and your lucky guest will relish a delightful tower of sandwiches, scones, pastries and cakes, all topped off by a chilled flute of prosecco. Of course, no afternoon tea would be complete without a piping hot brew; yours will be served to you the traditional way using the finest loose tea leaves, strained to your personal taste.

Lovely food
04 December 2022
Really nice place with lovely food, especially the scones. Plenty of food with unlimited top ups of tea or coffee. All served on china cups, saucers and plates.

Lovely afternoon Tea
30 July 2022
We had a lovely afternoon tea, food was lovely. We had a large pot of tea so had around 3 to 4 tea cups. Waiter was very polite. I think music in the background would have been nice, there was a couple of other guests where we could here their conversation/debates!! A little uncomfortable to listen too. Especially listening to politics views?? But we enjoyed it and would recommend.

Not a great afternoon tea
07 April 2022
Beautiful place, staff good too but very disappointing afternoon tea and way overpriced should be at least £10 cheaper for what you got quality wise. Coffee was very weak, and got cold before we got to the second cup. Sandwiches just ok, scone was very nice but cakes were just cut little pieces from the shop, not good which is a shame as their Sunday dinners looked really nice.

Afternoon tea at the Priesthouse hotel, Castle Donington
22 March 2022
We really enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Priesthouse hotel at Castle Donington as we should have had our afternoon tea last year for my mum’s 80th birthday and Mother’s Day so we had an 80+1 birthday but because of the pandemic we had to postpone as it was closed! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and experience!

Afternoon Tea
06 February 2022
Even thought we had a booking there was nobody at reception or at the bar so we had to wait around a bit which was annoying. There was no choice of tea just asked if we wanted tea or coffee and were given a tea. The sandwiches were not what I expected of an afternoon tea,we had cheese & pickle, tuna, ham & egg Mayo. One of the cakes was a mince pie even though we went in Feb! The venue was nice and would have been picturesque in summer if we sat outside. It was ok but I’ve had better afternoon teas!
