About the experience
The engine note rises, the runway slips away beneath you, and the hands on the controls are your own. Your hour in the air begins on the ground with a full safety briefing and a walkaround of the aircraft with your instructor, who talks you through the basics of flight before demonstrating them at altitude. Then the controls are handed over and the sky is yours to steer, with your instructor watching closely as the patchwork of fields tilts below the wing. Choose from five UK locations and log the flight as credit towards a Private Pilot's Licence if the aviation bug bites.
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- Your voucher is valid for 12 months
- Your voucher is valid for one person
- Weekends are busy, so book several weeks in advance
- Many venues operate seven days a week all year round; winter flights usually run earlier in the day, during daylight hours
- Minimum age 14 years; under 18s must have a parent or guardian present on the day
- Participants over 15 stone (95kg) may incur a surcharge for an upgrade to a larger aircraft
- Minimum height 4' - 4'10"; participants over 6'4" may incur a surcharge for an upgrade to a larger aircraft
- Participants must become a free member on the day in order to be covered by insurance
- Allow approximately 80 minutes in total, including the 60-minute flight
- Not suitable for anyone with epilepsy or vertigo, or for those who are pregnant
- Flat-soled shoes must be worn; sunglasses are recommended all year round
- Some venues ask for your name and address or photo ID on the day for security reasons
- Weather dependent, so call the venue for a weather check before setting out. Flights cancelled due to weather will be re-booked for an alternative date and time
- All dates are subject to availability

3rd time lucky
After 2 attempts in the summer, cancelled due to poor weather conditions, it was 3rd time lucky.
The staff were very friendly and helpful on all occasions, and apologetic when cancelled.
The flight was smooth and interesting, going over the sea, over a castle and grounds etc. About 15 minutes into the flight, you take over the controls, under the guidance of the pilot.

Great flying experience
Had a wonderful first flying experience. My instructor James was always clear on his instructions and very communicative. He performed the take off and the landing and he let me do most of the flying.
