Nice venue and very friendly
Our host had made an effort to make the experience as nice as possibly, which we appreciated. The food was plentiful, but as one of us was vegetarian (I did tell them in advance), I felt the sandwiches could have been more varied - there were 4 cheese and tomato and 4 tuna. The scones were excellent with tasty jam and cream. The saffron buns would have benefitted from some butter on them. The macaroons were lovely and sponge cake tasty. We were given plenty of tea. Although the landlord had forgotten we were meant to have a champagne tea, he kindly gave my partner the 2 glasses of wine he’d ordered free as a substitute for the champagne we hadn’t been given. A very enjoyable experience, thank you.
