Half day spa
I booked a half-day spa experience but unfortunately the visit didn’t go as expected. On arrival, I was given incorrect information, although the receptionist did her best to resolve things, which I appreciated.
One of the main facilities—the hydro pool—was not operational, which was disappointing as this was part of the experience I was looking forward to.
I had also booked a chakra massage, but this wasn’t what I received. There was a last-minute change of therapist due to one therapist being unable to treat male clients, which already made the experience feel a bit disorganised. The massage itself did not resemble a chakra treatment at all.
Additionally, the pressure used during the massage was far too strong, and despite mentioning multiple times that it was painful, it wasn’t adjusted appropriately.
Overall, the experience felt quite inconsistent and not in line with what was advertised. While the staff were polite and tried to help, the service and organisation need improvement.

Overpriced, overcrowded and very disappointing spa experience
We used a Buyagift voucher (plus a £49 upgrade) for an afternoon spa at Gomersal Park Hotel & Spa, costing over £220 in total.
Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing and not worth the money.
The spa was overcrowded and poorly maintained — the foot spa was out of use, one hot tub had no bubbles, and the other was dirty with visible scum. The whole area felt cold and had a musty smell, and the changing rooms smelled strongly of drains.
The overall experience felt very basic (plastic cups, worn towels/robes) and there was no introduction on arrival. The treatment was advertised as 50 minutes but lasted around 35 minutes, with no consultation and a cold, noisy room.
The afternoon tea was underwhelming, and we were charged extra for drinks.
Overall, this did not match what was advertised and was poor value for money.

Disappointing treatment
The package we bought included a welcome drink and a 50min treatment. We didn’t get the welcome drink and the treatment was only 35 minutes. We spoke to the therapist who said that she had mixed up her times. We feel like we have completely wasted our money. We have complained directly to the hotel and are awaiting a response.
