Luxury Spa Day with 60 Minute Treatment and Afternoon Tea for Two at Chelsea Harbour Hotel - Weekday

To be honest the spa was very disappointing - dirty; out of order loo/shower. When we arrived bins full no loo paper. My daughter and I were about to leave but it was a gift from my son so we stayed. The staff were very nice and treatments good but the brown decor was horrible and depressing. Sorry I love spas and have been to lots over the years plus I used to work for a magazine and organised spa days for our readers so I feel pretty qualified to judge a good one versus a disappointing one. The staff redeemed the day. By the time we had our treatments the bins were emptied and loo rolls replaced but this should have been checked before the place opened. I'm sorry but I could not recommend this spa and have asked my son not to buy any more gifts from this site.

The spa experience was positive Really nice relaxation room & massage Overall a quiet environment and clean facilities Whilst some things were not working properly such as the steam room this did not hamper our enjoyment. We were really looking forward to the second part the afternoon tea After confirming our dietary requirements the week before - vegan and vegetarian we were looking forward to it Only to find there was no vegan afternoon tea option and only one vegetarian sandwich . No deserts were indicated as suitable for either need. No attempt was made to offer a replacement lunch for my friend and staff could not reassure us the when some sandwiches did come that they were vegan . Staff did not know what vegan was and thought egg / cheese might be suitable . This did not reassure me that the sandwiches provided were free of any dairy spread or non vegan ingredients . What appeared to be brioche was served which normally contains egg A five start hotel should be able to cater beyond cucumber & tomato sandwiches. Would of expected vegan cakes and scones etc - a full afternoon tea as described If you have dietary requirements or allergies please do avoid . We were advised a manager was coming out to discuss options but nobody materialised Although we found the whole thing comical this was a disappointing end to a birthday gift . We were not expecting to have to go and buy lunch at marks after a luxury afternoon tea gone rather wrong !

The whole experience was very disappointing and very different from how it was portrayed on the website. The Spa at the Chelsea Harbour hotel is extremely sub standard. The changing rooms are really shabby, the locks on the lockers are broken, the loos were really filthy ( clearly hadn't been cleaned recently ) and it was boiling hot - no air conditioning. The indoor pool was also like a sauna ( no air conditioning) and very tired and shabby. The treatment room was the only nice area - clean and air conditioned and the treatment itself, by April was very good. The Afternoon tea was nice and served on the terrace in the hotel. Unfortunately the lady in charge of the restaurant/hotel (it seemed) was on the next table firstly watching something on her phone at full volume on loudpseaker and then conducting a face to face job interview which was very off putting for the guests - and presumably for the poor interviewee! In all, I would never buy this as a gift again and would recommend that you take this Spa off your list. It was very embarrassing as I gave it as a gift to a friend.

Mixed day- Pool has hydro jets. Sauna and steam rooms are single sex. There is a gym available. Treatment was strange - therapist seemed newly qualified. Afternoon tea was mixed- good sweet selection vegetarian savoury selection was not the tastiest. Bring your own footwear as the slippers they give you get drenched. Overall it was still a relaxing day but I would not return.
