One Night Country Escape with Dinner for Two

let’s start with the good THING fantastic location. Now for the rest and where do we begin. Attempted to park on site which was £25 addition to what has proved to be a very overpriced stay which incorporated bed breakfast and evening meal. No parking available due to works on the hotel that we were not informed about during the booking process, so in total 2 disabled and 3 standard spaces only available obviously all of which were taken. Found a public car park (which was cheaper than the hotel for 24hrs). Booked in at 4.00pm as per instructions, we were given our door cards and told by the man on reception we were half board (which we knew) and that was it no more information given. My partner had to ask what time the restaurant was open for our evening meal and breakfast and was grunted at 5.30pm and 7.00am to 10.00am. We then walked around for the next 20 minutes trying to find our room from the poor signage that was available, eventually going back to reception to be grunted at that room was in an annex separate from the hotel which was an accessible room (not requested and not needed). on entering the room we were met with a very strong potent musty smell and had to open all the windows immediately. We decided not to complain as we thought there was no point as we would only get grunted at once again. We made our way to the bar area which was close to the very empty restaurant which we found by accident as we had not been told its location, we sat at the bar and had a drink waiting for somebody to come to the restaurant reception desk (which actually never happened) so at 6.00pm my partner asked at the bar how could we book from the menu from the restaurant, to be told oh you have to book it here at the bar. (Again, we weren’t told this on arrival). The food came although it was pretty basic it was all good so no complaints there. Once we had chosen the location and hotel, Buyagift booked the hotel for us, it was as simple as that. The hotel was lovely as well as the food.

We enjoyed our stay here very pleasant staff who were always happy to assist when required. Food good in restaurant and also very close to town centre, buses and seafront. We really enjoyed our stay.
