You’ll be seated in the Palm Court, an opulent Art Deco paradise which was built in 1927 and features a stunning marble floor and period details dating back to the era. Step back in time and dine on a delicious afternoon tea inspired by the 1920s, including a selection of delicate sandwiches, intricate fine pastries and freshly baked scones with homemade preserves and Cornish clotted cream. For even more luxury, top it off with a glass of Louis Pommery England Champagne each.

Best afternoon tea

Disappointing for a 5 star hotel

Food was nice but the service was incredibly slow. They didnt follow requests through, eg they brought things when we had asked for them to be brought later, and all in the wrong order. They took 10-15 minutes to even serve us once we were seated. We waited over 3/4 hour for the food to arrive. It seemed chaotic. You could tell other customers were getting frustrated trying to catch the eye of a staff member. Even when we arrived, the staff all chatting behind the bar area and were not acknowledging us. Really poor. How on earth does it have a 5 star rating? There wasnt even a tablecloth on the table. On positive note, it is a great setting for central London sights/shopping/tourism, esp at Xmas time. The Xmas tree looked beautiful.
