About the experience
Take the plunge in a Hampshire swimming pool and discover what it feels like to breathe underwater. Begin with a safety briefing and expert advice, before learning the core skills that underpin scuba: steady breathing, achieving buoyancy and improving underwater mobility. Spend time practising movement beneath the surface in controlled conditions. A great way to gain a basic grounding in diving and see if it’s for you, especially if you’re considering a PADI Open Water Diving Course.
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- Your voucher is valid for two people
- Available on Saturdays at 4pm, February–November
- Minimum age: 10 years
- Must be booked at least two weeks in advance
- Lasts around two hours, but this may vary depending on the standard of pupils; around half an hour is spent in the pool
- Maximum pupil to tutor ratio of eight to one
- Spectators are not recommended, but they can usually be accommodated upon request – please ask when booking
- Bring a swimming costume, a towel and a T-shirt each to wear in the water as a cushion from the scuba apparatus, which can sometimes rub
- No previous experience is necessary; beginners are welcome
- All participants are required to sign a medical declaration and disclaimer before taking part. You must be in good health and comfortable in water; if you suffer from asthma, diabetes, claustrophobia or any respiratory, heart or other medical conditions, advance written medical approval from your doctor is required
