3 stars is generous for my experience but couldn't rate 2.5...
I gifted myself this Spa Day for my birthday and sadly found myself disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the facilities are clean and inviting in a fancy hotel so first impressions are great. The changing room is spacious and frequent cleaning staff maintain it well BUT here's my gripe: there are absolutely no chairs or loungers or benches or anywhere to sit/lie and relax between or after using the pool, sauna, jacuzzi. You can have a swim, use the sauna and steam room and there is a hot jacuzzi pool, all next to each other.
But not a single lounger!
As it's advertised as Spa DAY, and you get several hours of access to the facilities, I took the day off to relax, packed a book and envisaged reading and snoozing between swim, sauna and treatments.
I found it's hard to kill 3 hours without anywhere to sit and rest! It negates the positive effect of the sauna not bring able to rest afterwards and I literally had to go sit on the changing room bench at one point, just to have somewhere to be that isn't in the busy pool or the sauna.
The massage treatment was good and - again - the treatment part of the spa is lovely and I wish they had told me that there are sofas in their (separate, down a corridor) treatment area at least, so you can sit down waiting for your treatment. My treatment started 10min late, although I was on time, but the 40min were not adjusted, so got a shorter treatment through no late running off my own. By this stage I just wanted to leave, to be honest as it wasn't the lovely relaxing birthday spa day I'd planned.
If you're just going for an hour or so to use the facilities and then straight into the treatment and lunch, I'm sure it can be okay, but it shouldn't be sold as a Spa DAY as you can't comfortably spend hours in the current set up unless you purely go for the exercise of swimming or using the sauna just before your treatment and then relax in the treatment area after.
