I have been here many years previously but I was a little disappointed this time. On entering whilst I found the spa reception team friendly, I felt it was rushed and given a lot of information all at once. A more personal approach of being shown the entrance and towels and where afternoon tea would be served, would have been more appreciated. The spa is small and quiet and guests come and go so you more or less have it to yourself. The doors to the courtyard were locked, so I couldn't go out there (weather wasn't great but there was some sunshine at times). Unfortunately it took over 4 hours for teapots, glasses, trays to be cleared off the tables in the spa when I could clearly see staff sitting in the reception area. Im unsure whose job this was. The pool itself is lovely and the jacuzzi very pleasant. The sauna and steam is typical but there was no bucket/ladle to add more head in the sauna. Massage was lovely and I was informed only at that point about the relaxation room - maybe spa guests are not allowed use of this room? Tea in the conservatory was very relaxing and the service was excellent - the 2 gentlemen serving me should be commended. All in all, I would return but if you want an exceptional spa experience this is not the place to go and I would save a little more.
