About the experience
Put your pastry skills to the test with this ultimate pie making workshop for two at Brockleby’s Bakery. Over a fun and informative three-hour session, you’ll discover the story of the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie, make hot water crust pastry, hand raise your pie around a traditional dolly and learn how to add savoury jelly to a baked pie. You’ll head home with your handmade pie, a baked pie you have jellied, extra pastry to use later and access to the recipe.
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- Your voucher is valid for two people
- Available Saturdays and Sundays with Brockleby’s Bakery workshops at 9.30am and 1.30pm on Saturdays and Sunday workshops at The Pie Shop at 10am
- Please arrive ten minutes before the start time
- Please allow three hours and ten minutes for this experience
- Minimum age: 10 years; under 16s must be accompanied by an adult
- The Bakery location is fully accessible; The Pie Shop is currently unsuitable for those with access needs
- Please note, this experience is not suitable for gluten-free participants
- Parking is available directly in front of The Bakery; parking for The Pie Shop is available in the Burton Street Carpark
- To move a booking within 30 days and 48 hours of a workshop a £10 per person fee applies; changes made within 48 hours incur a £15 per person rebooking fee, increasing to £30 per person if the booking includes a Ploughman's

Brocklebys where great. Easy to contact ( unlike buyagift) and made sure I was given a lower table to work on. The evening was great fun and our pies where amongst the best there (though we are both hands on arty people :-)

A QUALITY EXPERIENCE THAT YOU REALLY CAN TAKE HOME WITH YOU
What an amazing and informative evening the pie making experience is. With an excellent and personable tutor, it really does stretch your practical capabilities, in a very rewarding way. I never knew there was so much to making those delicious pork pies. The course is extremely well organised and delivered, with plenty of instructions to take away, to complete the cooking of your 'masterpiece' at home. I can't wait to sample the nights work. If you want an experience that is just a little bit different, try your hand at this old english traditional craft... you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic Experience
This was a birthday gift I had bought my partner as a surprise. I purchased the Ultimate Pie Making Experience, and it was a great way to spend nearly 3 hours on a Saturday morning. The teacher was brilliant, lots of facts about the area of Melton Mowbray and about the pork pies we were making. It is suitable for everyone, as you are taken through step by step. You also get to go home with at least two pies each. The place next to the venue is also excellent for food and drinks.

Brilliant Pie Making
Great experience at Melton Mowbray. Brockleby's Pie Making was everything we thought it would be. There were 12 people doing the experience. we were able to try the Pork Pie we were going to make before we started, delicious. We had aprons and were supplied with hairnets, we all had working stations. The whole experience was a delight from the history of how the pie making began, to the demonstration and instructions of how to make the pie. Putting the pastry on the Dolly was tricky but help was there if needed. We brought our uncooked pies home with full instructions on cooking, freezing and adding the jelly. I would definitely recommend this experience. Great night had by all.
