Absolutely lovely hotel, spa access and food. Staff couldn’t do enough for you and were so welcoming. Would definitely go back again.

This was a return visit because we had enjoyed a previous stay so much. This time our 2 family group included our 8 month old granddaughter, so our needs were different. When we booked the two rooms, several months before, we requested that they be close together as we would be helping with childcare, and were told this had been noted. When, the week before our stay, we booked a table for dinner, we reiterated our request, and were told it was already noted. When we arrived to check in, 15 minutes after the earliest check in time, we were told that our rooms were in fact in opposite wings of the hotel, and nothing could be done to accommodate our longstanding request, as the hotel was full. I'm not sure what else we could have done to secure rooms close together, but we accepted the situation, and arranged to meet up for a family swim. On arrival at the pool, we discovered that children under 3 were not allowed in any part of the pool, although the baby was allowed to sit on my lap on a lounger beside the pool, but only until 5.30 when all children had to be removed from the whole pool area. We had not checked the small print regarding the pool, as we had remembered small children being present previously, so our fault perhaps, and although disappointing for us, we appreciate that some adults value a child-free environment. We very much enjoyed our dinner, and had a lovely waitress, but although a high-chair was provided, only 2 straps of the 3 point harness were intact. Similarly, at breakfast, one high chair strap was broken and food from a previous occupant was left on the seat. After checking out, the baby needed changing, and we could not easily find any changing facilities, so ended up using the floor of the disabled toilet. Despite the above, we like this hotel; the rooms are spacious and clean, with a fridge and robes, and it is well positioned for a riverside walk into Marlow, but if going with very young children, you may want to manage your expectations.

Location: easy to find, close to Marlow town centre. Room: Good size room, lovely decor, good amenities, clean and tidy Spa: the pool can get busy as there were no limit to the number of people who can be there at once. When it's less busy, it was pleasant. Dinner: Menu wasn't that exciting but it was nice food and decent portion size. There's certainly room for improvement. We had some minor issues and spoke to our waitress and she was very understanding of our feedback. Breakfast: Great spread and good quality produce. Service: All staff were very friendly, professional, helpful. Can't fault them.
