Overview

If you go down to the woods today…you’ll have an amazing and unique family holiday. Take the stress out of camping with the kids, and stay in a luxurious treehouse. The designer unit sleeps two adults and two under 16s, and has comfortable beds, vintage wooden furniture, squidgy cushions, tea lights and lanterns and - best of all - a wood-burning stove that efficiently heats the whole place in minutes. It even heats the water for the spring water shower - no, you don’t have to go without hot showers! There is an ensuite composting toilet, so no stumbling around the woods in the dark looking for the loo! The treehouses are set in stunning bluebell-carpeted woods on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. You can explore the unspoilt countryside on foot or by mountain bike. There are beaches nearby, and with the town of Machynlleth just a short drive away, you’re not stranded too far from civilisation if you run out of cornflakes.

Genuinely magical experience

A magical get away in an enchanted wood (and friendly sheep to boot!) Get away from it all and live in the trees for a few days. Leave your phone at home and enjoy life in the slow lane.

Wow! What a fantastic experience.

We stayed in our treehouse for two nights and it was truly amazing. Our three and five-year old daughters were so excited about staying up in the treetops and they certainly weren’t disappointed. The weekend more than lived up to all of our expectations. The whole booking process ran very smoothly, with regular updates and reminders and plenty of information about what we’d need to bring and directions on how to get there. On arrival, we received such a warm welcome; it was lovely. We were given instructions on how to get to our treehouse, plenty more info about our home for the weekend and its surroundings, and reassurance that they were just a phone call away if we needed anything. There are six treehouses on site but you really wouldn’t know; they are each in their own direction and totally hidden away in the trees. We felt happily secluded, safe and secure. The treehouse itself was an amazing structure. The wooden staircase and rope bridge to access it made for a real adventure for the girls. And they were particularly impressed with the rope swing just below and the ‘lookout’ they could walk up to, just above. Perhaps less so with the Swedish compost toilet, but it certainly added to the whole experience! Without electricity, the treehouse is a lovely escape. Twinkly lights, tealights and lanterns created a relaxing, peaceful ambience, and the wood fired stove kept us toasty and heated the cute outdoor shower. The treehouse was cosy yet spacious and had everything we needed; a double bed, bunk beds, table and seating area, makeshift outdoor fridge and plenty of kitchen equipment that allowed us to create a delicious pasta meal on the stove and hotdogs for the kids. There were a few books and games on the shelves as well as leaflets and fantastic hand-drawn maps of local walks and places to go. We followed their ‘Famous Mountain and Sea, Driving Tour’ and had a wonderful day. This Experience is certainly one we’d recommend and do again ourselves!

This is a break unlike any other you'll have. A wonderful place. The kids loved it. A real adventure. We'll be back! The journey from Surrey wasn't as dreadful as we'd expected either. Definitely worth the drive. Thank you.

Really special

A really unique experience in a stunning location. No electricity, so you'll be relying on the plentiful tea lights and log burner to keep warm and well lit; the gravity shower is fab and it feels completely random having to go outdoors in your towel and 'nip' all the way down the spiral staircase to get to the outdoor shower. Tip: take flip flops and a big towel or dressing gown, especially in winter. On arrival you're warmly welcomed and given useful info then it's off to your treehouse. They're set well apart down the valley so you have a great feeling of seclusion. Tip : pack light, they aren't kidding about it being a long trek to the treehouse and remember you'll have to pulley it all up to the top! Lots of walks but we happy to mooch around our tree house with the stream, axe for wood chopping, lookout points and rope swings providing more than enough to keep the kids entertained. If you run out of food there are plenty of amenities like supermarket, fish and chip shop, etc a short drive away (and a walking distance pub). A very memorable experience and the perfect place for a bit of family bonding time!

An Amazing Experience

If you like getting back to nature, with privacy, wonderful surroundings and in need to chill out, this is for you. The kids can explore and you have piece of mind they are safe. On a two night break you actually dont need to leave the treehouse if you take enought food / drinks. Felt like a different world, a great way to get away from it all.

Even teens loved the shower....

Amazing experience even in Feb. Favourite part showering outdoors! Views of sheep n hills whilst experiencing the hot spring water shower unique. Wish it had been warm enough to enjoy balcony sitting- still no guarantee of that even in August. Even enjoyed cooking for ourselves, and drinking (easily) chilled fizz by the light of the log burner and candles enhances the flavour!
