Extended Rally Driving Experience at Oulton Park 10222081

This was bought for me as a birthday present. Booking was straightforward via the track operators website, in this case Oulton Park. The staff at Oulton Park were very nice and helpful. The briefing before the driving was clear and put everyone at ease. After meeting the instructors, we were in the cars within a matter of minutes, then straight to the track. The instructors themselves were excellent, and know what they're on about. You get to push the car as much as you're comfortable. Spinning out is expected, so you're told to go for it. I was told the best techniques for each part and told where I was doing well and where I could improve. There was no left foot breaking instructions as advertised, but it wasn't necessary anyways. We seemed to do a lot of laps on Stage 1 and just as many on Stage 2. The passanger experience was great! The feedback and scoring from the instructors at the end was a nice touch as well. All in all, it was a great experience and I would definitely like to do it again.

From start to finish we was looked after and given a briefing on how the session will work then made our way out where we had the best possible experience... The instructors make the impossible task seem easy and explain the best lines to take and the how to get the best out of the car and make sure that each lap is an improvement. Because the car is a rally car it works exactly like the real thing you see on track and it's down to you to control it. The timed lap at the end was such a good opportunity to have a competition with other family members I was with! The whole experience is just a thrill and you'll want to be back to do it all again! Driving your road car home will definitely become more boring after this experience :)

I have never taken part in a rally experience before but I throughly enjoyed it and it was really nice to do something different from the “normal” super car experiences. The facilities, track, car and instructors were all great! I would definitely recommend!

This was not only my first time driving a car off the public road but also my first time driving a reasonably fast car and I had a fantastic time. I attended the Oulton Park circuit in Cheshire where there are two short, tarmac rally stages inside the main circuit. Before my session started I had an opportunity to watch the previous group in action and to be honest my first impression was they were going slowly. That all changed when I got behind the wheel. Despite not getting out of second gear it felt anything but slow. My instructor encouraged me to make full use of the throttle in the rear-wheel drive Toyota GT86 and it felt amazing to slide the back end of the car and then control it (to some extent) with a little opposite lock. As a novice and given the relatively short time behind the wheel I did not progress to the hand brake turns or left foot breaking mentioned in the overview. After several laps of the first stage you do one final timed lap before moving on to the second stage to repeat the sequence. The session ended with the instructor driving two quick laps which made my own efforts seem rather tame. All in all you are in the car for around 40-45 minutes. This was a present from my son and I will definitely be returning with him, so we can both set times.

Whilst this was the nearest most convenient day as it has only been available on Saturdays , I had been looking forward to the day. I have to say that on reading the brochure afterwards I feel very disappointed that the promises therein were not delivered on the day. Page one of your cards shows the vehicle being driven on a gravel track. Whereas the course was totally tarmac.No off road experience ! The statement also contains the promise " Learn from professional drivers about techniques like left foot braking and handbrake turns". None of this was covered. In fact I had to prompt the instructor for guidance. Unfortunately, when the drive was completed I was given an analysis sheet. The topics listed and scores given were never discussed. Under the heading mechanical sympathy - driving to instruction I was given 16/20 !!! What instruction? Braking before corners - corner approach an line - never discussed I had to ask if it was appropriate to use the brakes ! Ability to avoid understeer - likewise. Ironicallly, we were asked to fill a sheet after the ride. Due to the adrenaline rush I was not able to absorb the fact that it had not complied with the marketing and would not have given the remarks that I did on this sheet. I would not wish the information to be published thank you. I am not quibbling about my score which is irrelevant under the circumstances but the fact that I did not receive what was marketed. Speaking to relatives after they were surprised that I did not have more input from the instructor. Following on from our telephone conversation earlier. I was given the gift of this experience as a Christmas Present by my family. An amazing day! We went on the Oulton Park Rally Experience and it was great. The staff were informative and helpful, and the driving experts were very reassuring and made the experience great. I would definitely recommend this!

A great day. Time fly's by but you get a good amount of time on the track with great instructors. Its a whole day out and you can enjoy what is going on on the course before and after your time on track!

This was an AMAZING experience. I'd never done anything like this before but it was such an adrenaline rush!! The cars are great and the instructors are really friendly and helpful. I was able to slide and do hand brake turns, I even did a 360 at one point (though this wasn't mean to happen!!). I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone and I think I may be back myself!
