Start off with a full briefing from an experienced instructor, covering safety and driving techniques, then enjoy three sighting laps in a track-prepared sports saloon car to get to know the layout of the track. Get your blood pumping with a high-speed passenger ride, then get behind the wheel of the Formula F1000 single seater, capable of going from 0 to 100 mph in just 4.75 seconds! Speed around the track for ten exhilarating laps and feel the superior speed, grip and handling of this incredible vehicle.
What do I need to know?
- Your voucher is valid for one person
- Available Monday–Friday, year round
- Saturday morning bookings will incur a £35 surcharge payable to the supplier upon booking
- Expect to be at the venue for around an hour and a half, including four sighting laps, a high-speed passenger ride and ten laps of hands-on driving in the Formula F1000
- Briefings are held in groups. The demonstration laps with a qualified instructor can include up to three passengers. There may be other cars on the track at the same time
- Minimum age: 17 years
- Minimum height is 5’2”
- Maximum height is 6’1”
- Maximum weight is 16st0lb
- Drivers must hold a full manual driving license, to be produced on the day

Absolutely brilliant experience
I attended the F1000 experience and luckily for me had the track to myself being the only person booked that day. The experience started with a very informative brief from Stuart, he was very friendly and made the fairly long talk engaging and funny. The brief is very helpful to give you an idea of what to do and what to DEFINITELY not do. Brad at the front of house was also helpful and showed all the guests on the day to their instructors and cars. I had Nick as my instructor and I can’t fault him one bit, absolutely lovely guy, really friendly and helpful, eased the nerves with his jokes, and was also very informative and detailed about how to tackle the track and handle the car. He gave us a very slow lap round often stopping, to explain the techniques for each part which was extremely helpful, and then gave a flying lap to show how it was really done. He was patient and happy to hear any concerns of questions. Thank you Nick for making the experience as good as it was, much appreciated from myself and my partner, you made our day. Would highly recommend this experience and visiting drift limits, great team and great fun. Also a mention for the helpful ladies at the desk :)

Really good day

Fun drive, but too a fair while to get going
On arrival we had to register, which took a little while. There was only one person there dealing with everyone coming in and also all those coming back in from the meeting area with their filled in forms, so this could have been slicker.
We were then given a briefing of the various tracks (dependent on which experience you were driving). This was fine, but it then evolved into an advert for offers available on that day and an unnecessary bidding session on an unknown prize. Could have done without those. The introductory session also made a lot of emphasis (with videos) on what could go wrong - possibly to try and indicate you should buy their damage waiver.
As I was doing the F1000 experience, I was taken to the drifting section of the setup in an Aigo to learn how to behave in the event of a spin in the F1000 or loss of control. It was drilled into you that if you didn't depress the clutch and brake quickly, you could damage the engine and would incur a cost to repair. It was a useful time to prepare though and the instructor made it fun as well.
We were then taken to the F1000 cars on its 'track'. I have put 'track' in quotes because it's quite small (so not something like the Thruxton track) but despite that, it had some good chicanes, straights and more challenging sections. There was also a secondary lane to allow faster cars past if the need arose. So although relatively small, it was still a good course. It did mean, however, that when you think you are getting 10-14 laps (dependent on which you buy), that doesn't really equate to a long drive.
The car itself was really fun to drive and I loved it. The first 4 laps you have to take slower to get used to it and warm up the tyres, but after that are allowed to go for it. I had a really fun time and would have loved to have pushed it more, but had it in the back of my mind that if I spun it, I would be stopped, so that ruined it a bit.
So there are caveats, but in general I had a really good day in the end.
