About the experience
After a welcome refreshment and a thorough safety briefing, climb aboard a light aircraft and taxi to the runway. Once airborne, savour panoramic views of the Cotswolds, the River Severn and two great suspension bridges as the aircraft glides through the clouds. With guidance from your pilot, take the controls for a hands-on moment in the sky, then land with a signed certificate that can be logged towards flying time for a Private Pilot's Licence.
What do I need to know?
- Our vouchers are flexible and may be used to select and book an experience from our range via our website
- Your voucher is valid for one person
- Available week round, year round, excluding Christmas Day and New Year's Day
- Minimum age: 16 years
- Minimum height: 4'10''
- Maximum height: 6'4''
- Maximum weight: 17st
- Weekend dates can get busy; book at least four weeks in advance (earlier for summer weekends)
- This is a weather dependent activity; please call the venue for a weather check before setting out
- If the flight is cancelled due to weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time
- Please allow up to an hour-and-a-half at the venue, including a 30 minute flight
- Flight times are approximate and measured from chocks-off to chocks-on
- The briefing might be shared
- Wear flat-soled shoes
- Sunglasses are recommended all year round
- Photographic ID (ideally a passport) must be produced on the day

3rd time lucky
After 2 attempts in the summer, cancelled due to poor weather conditions, it was 3rd time lucky.
The staff were very friendly and helpful on all occasions, and apologetic when cancelled.
The flight was smooth and interesting, going over the sea, over a castle and grounds etc. About 15 minutes into the flight, you take over the controls, under the guidance of the pilot.

An xmas present from the Mrs! Staff at Clifton Aviation are very friendly and knowledgeable and happy to chat about flying & answer all my questions etc. Once up in the air I was excited if a little nervous to actually take control of a real aircraft for the first time! Beautiful sunny day so got to also enjoy the scenery and do some basic maneuvers and operate the various controls. You can also have a video of the flight to take home which is a nice touch.
