Tasty cream tea
Booking was rushed, the woman on the phone said she was there alone and couldn't cope so not a great experience.
The castle was interesting but everything seemed a bit shabby which was a shame as is could be beautiful, especially the gardens.
The parasol was broken on our table outside so we had to move inside where we had to turn the table cloth round because it had a big blob of jam on it and the previous people's dirty crockery. There were faded fake flowers hanging in the orangery, it wouldn't have taken much to put fresh ones on the table. It was little things like this that gave the impression of being unkempt.

disappointing
The place could do with an overhaul. The gardens were untidy and overgrown. There was not much to see in the house and it was misleading from the advert. Cream Tea was nothing to shout about. Very disappointing.

Disappointing
It didn't go well from the start. The telephone number quoted by Buyagift is wrong. It should end in 363 not 796. It took two days of phoning in the mornings to speak to a person. On arrival, the car park was unkempt with a broken light in one corner. Going through to the courtyard, It wasn't clear which persons were staff or visitors. No badges were worn. The thatch on the houses was so old it was mostly moss. The general condition was rather tired. The grassed areas are very uneven. It is traditional to warm the scones. No options were given as to tea, coffee or decaf. However, the scones, cream and jam were generous portions and very enjoyable. Also, trying to submit this review, "an error occurred.... Please try again shortly...!!!

Average afternoon out
The castle & ground's tour was informative, but the cream tea was average at best, & staff didn't really impress

Nice afternoon, good value for money
we were given a Buya git voucher for 2 to take the castle tour and the afternoom Cream tea. Booking for our visit was very easy castele staff bing very ppolite and easy to deal with. It took us some time to get suitable date as the tours only take place one day a week.
However on the day we ere not dissapointed. On arrival we were met by a smiling friendly person who offered us a pot of tea. We enjoyed the tour very much, a very relaxed and knowledgable gent told us about the rooms and the artifacts and pictures. Then on to our cream tea that appeared without delay. We were offered the opportunity to walk freely in the Castle gounds. Looking at their prices I would opine that the afternoon was very good value and willrecommend it to friends
