Very disappointed with this workshop - the two items we made were incredibly simple (felt more like something you would learn to do at a kind's after school activity), and there was no effort at any education about chocolate or the melting process. The teacher, whilst very friendly and welcoming, did not feel like she had had adequate training (we ended up taking over 50 mins to make a ganache as we were given the wrong instructions). There were 18 of us in the class which is simply too many for 1 teacher and we didn't receive the help we needed to fix the issues with the poor instructions. The venue was a hotel conference room without expected facilities for a food workshop; chocolate was being melted on a camping stove with no thermometers (we left with truffles where the chocolate had bloomed), not enough ingredients and the room was too warm. We had to share toppings with two other pairs on our table which just feels unsanitary (no sinks in the room meant having to walk through the hotel each time you needed to wash hands) and the supplies were not very generous at all; the only "flavours" you could add to the truffles were candied peel or honeycomb. Even had the chocolate not bloomed, it didn't taste particularly good quality and we ended up throwing everything we had made away. In no way does the experience warrant the price of tickets. You would be able to produce something better at a 10th of the price at home, with better tools and facilities available to you.

This was a great class. I learnt about chocolate and truffle making. I learnt lots of new skills and everything was explained well so I felt like I could get involved. Loved it
