Keeper for a Day for Two at Dartmoor Zoo

Get stuck into life at the zoo with this keeper for a day experience for two people at Dartmoor Zoo. You’ll have the chance to experience the daily tasks of a keeper and come face to face with a range of curious creatures. Work alongside the expert team as you learn about animal diets, nutrition, husbandry, training and enrichment, doing your bit to keep the animals happy and healthy. You’ll get involved with feeding and cleaning the goats, tapir and meeting the meerkats. You will then get the chance to feed a noisy family of otters, plus the chance to enjoy a bug and reptile session. Enjoy entry to the rest of the zoo for the day, with a slice of cake and hot drink included for an extra treat.

What's included?

• A hands-on one-day experience as a zoo keeper at Dartmoor Zoo for two
• Learn about different species, animal diet and nutrition and caring for a variety of animals
• Get up close to some otters, goats, tapir, meerkats, reptiles and more
• Entry to the rest of Dartmoor Zoo on the day of your visit
• A slice of cake and hot drink in the Jaguar restaurant

What do I need to know?

• All our vouchers are fully flexible and can be redeemed against our huge range of experiences
• Available on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8am, year round, excluding Christmas Eve to Boxing Day
• It is recommended that you book well in advance to avoid disappointment as places are limited. Dates are available up to six months in advance
• Please allow five hours for the whole experience
• Minimum age: 16 years
• Please note, this experience is hands-on with a bit of hard work required
• This experience is not suitable for anyone who is pregnant, has a high blood pressure or is of a nervous disposition or is a wheelchair user
• The enclosure grounds may be uneven or muddy depending on the weather. Sturdy and supportive footwear is recommended, as well as clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
