About the experience
Set time aside to unwind together with a spa day at your chosen Macdonald Hotel. You will enjoy full access to calming leisure spaces, then each select one 25-minute treatment from ELEMIS or ishga options – either a glow-boosting facial or a soothing back, neck and shoulder massage. Towels, robes and slippers will be provided for easy comfort, and a £5 ELEMIS retail voucher will help you pick out a skincare favourite to take home.

Terrible customer service, awful installations
McDonald’s Botley hotel is an absolute joke, not worth getting this package. Customer service is a foreign concept to them, I contact them 4 times on the phone and never spoke to anyone from the “spa” regarding my treatment options and the times for this. This isn’t a spa, it’s an indoor pool with a small steam room and small sauna with terribly outdated changing rooms, loads of dirty towels everywhere, hotel and spa staff who could care less you’re a paying customer. Massage was meant to be 25 minutes, it was closer to 17 minutes. The young staff have no idea of how to be courteous and made us feel very unwelcome. The whole experience was so disappointing.

Misadvertised spa day
My Partner and I received a ‘buy a gift’ voucher for Christmas for a Macdonald Hotel Spa Day. Alveston Manor was our closest location so booked for there. Booked for 01/01/26.
May I highlight that all staff were very welcoming and friendly and this is not a complaint against staff.
Unfortunately, we left shortly after arriving as very disappointed with the facilities. We arrived around 09:15 and left by 10:00.
Advertised to be a ‘relaxing spa day’, we were very disappointed to be greeted with a leisure centre swimming pool. We felt anything but relaxed, with children splashing/doing handstands in the pool, and lane swimmers. I have also noted from google reviews that many other people have had similar disappointment.
I feel awful for my Mother-in-law who spent her hard earned money (may I emphasise that she is a Paramedic who has worked throughout Christmas) on what she thought to be a spa day for us.
