About the experience
Wake up to the gentle rush of the River Wye on a two-night break for two at The Royal Lodge, with a standard en suite bedroom and the run of the guest lounge and hotel restaurant. Built in 1876 as a royal hunting lodge and a hotel since the 1920s, it sits deep in the Wye Valley with magnolia-lined gardens sloping towards the water. Days here can be as lively or as lazy as you like, with canoeing, cycling and golf close by, and you'll find that lounge waiting when you wander back.

A very welcoming hotel set in beautiful surroundings by the River Wye.
Have used Buy a gift to stay here before as we love the welcoming atmosphere, the cleanliness of the rooms and quality of the breakfasts and dinners.

A wonderful treat!
Our stay at Royal Lodge was perfect. It is in the most beautiful idyllic spot and a real chance to get lost in nature and switch off. Highly recommended - the photos do not do it justice and the staff are very helpful.

Fabulous gift
Amazing location and lovely place to stay. There was also a pub less than a minute walk. Dog friendly. Loved it. River cruise for £12 per person for 40 minutes was so relaxing
